Simple Organic Recipes

Here are some simple to make recipes of nutritional food packed full of nutrients and beneficial enzymes. Each require just a few minutes of preparation to produce delicious wholesome food with minimum cost.

Simple Organic Raw Sauerkraut

1 Organic Cabbage

1 Tablespoon Sea or Himalayan Salt

1 large mixing bowl

A Glass jar (kilner or similar)

Method

Peel outer leaves off cabbage and chop finely.

Place finely chopped cabbage in large mixing bowl and add Salt

Using hand squeeze and mix together until cabbage starts to release juices. It will reduce by 1/3 to 1/2 in volume and release quite a lot of juice

Start to pack into jar very tightly and pour in juice. Push down so the cabbage is below the juice level. To achieve this I place the outer cabbage leaves rolled up on top of the packed cabbage.

If you feel you need to add more liquid mix 1 tablespoon of Salt to 1 pint of water stir and pour in just enough to keep shredded cabbage below juice level.

Place lid on jar loosely and leave in cupboard or pantry for 5 days. I place jar in bowl as if too full it can sometimes overflow during fermentation. If you prefer a stronger taste you can leave longer.

Now your Saurkraut is ready to eat so just tighten the lid and place in fridge to stop fermentation.

You now have delicious homemade Saurkraut packed with beneficial enzymes to enhance your Gut Health. Enjoy
